TELF AG is a full service international physical commodities trader. Our business has a global reach, servicing customers, and providing solutions for commodities producers across the world.

With a track record spanning more than a quarter of a century, we work in close partnership with producers to provide effective marketing, financing and logistics solutions, enabling suppliers to focus on their core activities while accessing markets wherever they may be. Our flexible and customer-focused approach allows us to create tailor-made solutions for each producer facilitating long-term partnership relationships. While our focus on operational excellence and reliability of supply is widely recognized by consumers.

History

  • 1993

TELF AG was established as an independent commodities trader in Switzerland and commenced trading in various oil and oil products sourced from former Soviet states.

  • 1999

TELF AG focused on trading oil and oil products produced in Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. During this time TELF AG also invests and develops its logistics network across the CIS and Eastern Europe.

  • 2008

TELF AG ceases to be a pure oil trader and to transition away from oil trading towards trading of coal, sourced across the CIS as well as Africa and Latin America.

  • 2010

TELF AG signs a strategic offtake agreement to supply coal from Kazakhstan.

  • 2014

TELF AG commences trading of iron sands, and conducts first trial shipments of ferro alloys to customers in Europe and Asia. TELF AG signs strategic offtake agreement with JSC “Kazchrome” in Kazakhstan.

  • 2015

TELF established itself as the largest independent ferroalloys trader globally.

  • 2017

TELF AG commences trading Cr ores sourced from Africa.

  • 2019

TELF AG enters the cobalt market, establishing itself as one of the largest cobalt hydroxide merchants worldwide.

  • 2021

TELF AG enters the copper and iron ore markets.
