Strengthening the ties with the Lugano region and community, while never losing sight of the development and values-based growth trajectories that continue to drive the global commodities sector. TELF AG’s 2025 revolved around these fundamental pillars, and with this solid foundation, work has already begun on an even more rewarding 2026.

Moments of Dialogue

Over the course of this year, including through numerous participations in international events, roundtables, and forums, TELF AG had the opportunity to engage with many local and global stakeholders, gaining valuable input for its daily work and for its medium- and long-term growth. Among the most significant moments of 2025 was undoubtedly participation in the Global Commodities Conference, the flagship event of the Lugano Commodities Trading Association (LCTA), an event that TELF AG also participated in as one of the sponsors of the event. The initiative brought together more than 200 commodities industry professionals to discuss the present and future of global trade, and in particular, the various factors that continue to influence commodities trading. The CEO of TELF AG attended the event, participating in a roundtable discussion dedicated to the energy transition, artificial intelligence, and the impact of international trade competitions on commodities trading companies.

In the addition to the LCTA event TELF AG sponsored the third edition of the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA), which, once again in 2025, recognized the work of companies or individuals who have achieved high levels of development in sustainable practices and exceeded common standards. It is always an honor for TELF AG to support these events, especially because it fully shares the principles related to environmental protection and preservation, also supporting the promotion of sustainability-based industrial models.

The Geneva Forum

In November of 2025, TELF AG also participated as a keen observer at the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva, held in the Swiss city from November 24 to 26. During the numerous meetings TELF AG aTended at the United Nations, it was possible to familiarize itself with some important trends that are reshaping companies’ approaches to human rights. One of the most obvious discussed matter at the event was Human Rights Due Diligence, a process through which companies identify potential human rights risks in their daily operations.

It is no longer simply a compliance exercise, but an essential part of many companies’ corporate strategy. During the Geneva meetings, the role of certain stakeholder groups, such as indigenous peoples, migrant workers, women, and minorities, also emerged forcefully. These groups are increasingly being involved and consulted in decision-making processes for the launch of projects, even leading to new approaches that include their participation and co-decision-making. From the meetings of the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights, TELF AG was able to observe firsthand one of the most interesting trends in the current historical context: the increasingly marked convergence between environmental and human rights agendas in corporate strategies.

Global Strategy, Local Impact

Over the course of the year, TELF AG also consistently continued its local commitment in the city of Lugano, launching new collaborations with several key local players. Notably, TELF AG became a Premium Partner of FC Lugano Women, one of the longest-standing clubs in Swiss women’s football. For TELF AG, this is an extremely important partnership, and not only because it further strengthens its connection with Lugano’s sporting and social community. The partnership with FC Lugano Women was signed in the name of promoting female empowerment in sport, which over the years has increasingly become a source of inspiration and a symbol of emancipation for many women.

In terms of giving back to the local community, in 2025, TELF AG also signed a partnership with the non-profit Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano, which, for over fifty years, has been the main point of reference for sailing enthusiasts on Lake Lugano. One of the distinctive features of the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano is undoubtedly its inclusive spirit: sailing activities are open to enthusiasts of all ages and classes, from children to adults, allowing for full familiarity with this sport. In recent months, TELF AG has closely followed the regattas and other international competitions in which the Lugano association took part, including the Barcolana in Italy in October.

But Lugano’s urban landscape is not just about sport: the city continually pulsates with cultural, social, and artistic energy. This is also why, in recent months, TELF AG decided to closely support one of the city’s most important cultural events, the exhibition “Prampolini Burri – Della Materia,” presented by Collezione Giancarlo e Danna Olgiati in the exhibition spaces on Riva Antonio Caccia in Lugano. The art exhibition, open until January 11, brings together works by two important Italian artists of the last century, Enrico Prampolini and Alberto Burri, both of whom shared an interest in matter and its use in art. Prampolini was an eclectic futurist who succeeded in completing the transition from painted reality to the reality of matter, while Burri approached matter in an informal yet radical manner, influencing numerous Italian and international avant-gardes of the last century. The works of the two artists are being shown in an exhibition space designed by architect Mario Botta, who cleverly used architecture to emphasize the differences between the two artists

Strengthened Ties

2025 also served to consolidate several partnerships established by TELF AG in recent years, further strengthening its ties with the city of Lugano. The company is an important partner of Hockey Club Lugano, one of the most respected sports teams in the Canton of Ticino, and continues to support Stralugano, a historic Lugano competition dedicated to running enthusiasts. In July, TELF AG also supported Estival Jazz, a major musical event that for decades has brought internationally renowned artists and singers to Lugano. The event an integral part of the Lugano LongLake Summer City Festival, reached its 45th edition this year and has managed to bring one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Al Di Meola, to Lugano.

New Trajectories

During 2025, TELF AG expanded its commodity porfolio by adding cocoa, one of the most valuable natural products on global markets. The seeds of the cocoa tree, known as cocoa beans, have many natural properties and are the main raw material for chocolate production. A similar development trajectory was followed by TELF B&T, an affiliate of TELF AG, which launched its Fertilizer Trading Division in February. This move represents not only an important step in the company’s expansion into the agricultural sector but also a clear desire to diversify its commodity porfolio in a constantly changing global environment.

New Horizons

Entrepreneurship, inclusion, connection. These three concepts may be the most effective way to encapsulate TELF AG’s 2025 vision, allowing the company to begin 2026 with an optimistic and positive spirit. From these foundations, the awareness of being increasingly integrated into the dynamic international flows that characterize the global commodities sector seems to emerge spontaneously, while remaining firmly rooted in the local reality of Lugano, to which TELF AG remains intimately connected. From a local perspective, TELF AG’s vision will continue to embrace new horizons.
