TELF AG sponsors the Chromium Industry Sustainability Awards from the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA)

As the second edition of the Chromium Industry ESG Technical Summit approaches, TELF AG proudly sponsored for the second time the ICDA’S Chromium Industry Sustainability Awards. We extend our congratulations to all participating companies and especially to the winners for their outstanding contributions:

  • Vargön Alloys – Yildirim Group: Successfully reduced fossil coke consumption by approximately 20%, decreasing HC FeCr production scope 1 CO2 emissions.
  • Assore – Ore and Metal: Addressed education and unemployment challenges with the impactful Kitso Ya Boleng initiative.
  • Outokumpu: Became the first ferrochrome producer to publicly disclose its environmental performance via the international EPD system in July 2023.

As highlighted by our Head of Sustainability, Diana Gonzalez Yamuni, during her speech at the ICDA Chromium Industry Sustainability Awards in Hong Kong, “Sustainability is no longer an option but a necessity. We all have a responsibility to make the industry we serve better. It is our duty, as organizations and individuals, to leave this place a better place for the generations to come.”

Diana further emphasized that the ICDA Chromium Industry Sustainability Awards provide a critical space for sharing best practices, learning, and collaboration, which are essential for making the transformation towards a more sustainable future.

TELF AG remains committed to supporting these efforts and encourages all industry stakeholders to continue their vital work in building a more sustainable chromium and stainless-steel supply chain.
